Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects protein transport protein Sec31A in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 133.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 133 kDa.
SEC31A forms the outer cage of the COPII coat together with SEC13, assembling on top of the SEC23-SEC24 layer to shape vesicles that leave the endoplasmic reticulum. It is widely used as a marker of ER exit sites in secretory pathway studies.

Immunogen
Recombinant human SEC31A fragment (Tyr101–Lys806), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places protein transport protein Sec31A in the cytoplasm and endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Abundantly and ubiquitously expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
