Clone 28S26 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes semaphorin-4D (gene SEMA4D) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 96.2 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 120, 140 kDa.
Semaphorin-4D (SEMA4D, also called CD100) is a transmembrane semaphorin that signals through plexin-B1 and plexin-B2, activating RhoA-dependent cytoskeletal changes. It influences neurite branching, neuronal migration and inhibitory synapse formation, and it also acts in immune cell activation, bone remodeling and angiogenesis.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places semaphorin-4D in the cell membrane and SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Strongly expressed in skeletal muscle, peripheral blood lymphocytes, spleen, and thymus and also expressed at lower levels in testes, brain, kidney, small intestine, prostate, heart, placenta, lung and pancreas, but not in colon and liver. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
