Product Overview
Clone 19S57 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes sentrin-specific protease 1 (gene SENP1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 73.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 73 kDa.
SENP1 is a SUMO-specific cysteine protease with two jobs: it trims SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 precursors into their mature forms, and it removes SUMO from modified proteins. By reversing SUMOylation it controls the activity and localization of many nuclear proteins, including transcription factors, and is studied in gene regulation, hypoxia signaling and cancer biology.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human SENP1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places sentrin-specific protease 1 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in testis. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
