Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects SERPINE1 mRNA-binding protein 1 (gene SERBP1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 45.0 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 55 kDa(human), 50 kDa(mouse, rat).
SERBP1 (SERPINE1 mRNA-binding protein 1, also called PAI-RBP1) is an RNA- and ribosome-binding protein. It associates with eEF2 on idle ribosomes to hold them in a stable, inactive hibernation state and may also regulate mRNA stability, including that of the PAI-1 transcript.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human LNCAP cells, human K562 cells, human Daudi cells, human HEL cells, rat kidney tissue, mouse skeletal muscle tissue, mouse kidney tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): ANA-1 cells, HEL cells, RH35 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human SERBP1. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places SERPINE1 mRNA-binding protein 1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed at high level in the heart, skeletal muscle and kidney, and at low levels in placenta, liver and brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
