Product Overview
Clone AOGE-1 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase 2 (gene ATP2A2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 114.8 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 110, 140 kDa.
ATP2A2 (SERCA2) pumps Ca2+ from the cytosol into the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticulum using ATP. The SERCA2a isoform controls relaxation and calcium handling in heart muscle, SERCA2b is expressed in most cells, and mutations in ATP2A2 cause Darier disease of the skin.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase 2 in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform 1 is widely expressed in smooth muscle and nonmuscle tissues such as in adult skin epidermis, with highest expression in liver, pancreas and lung, and intermediate expression in brain, kidney and placenta. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
