Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets serine incorporator 3 (gene Serinc3) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 52.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 53 kDa.
Serine incorporator 3 (SERINC3) is a multi-pass membrane protein and lipid scramblase that is incorporated into budding virus particles. In mouse it restricts gammaretroviruses by blocking an early step of infection, the entry of the viral core into the cytoplasm, and SERINC proteins are widely studied as antiviral restriction factors.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat liver tissue, rat kidney tissue, mouse liver tissue, human HEK293 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HEPA1–6 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): RAW264.7 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse SERINC3 fragment (Glu59–Tyr404), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places serine incorporator 3 in the cell membrane and Golgi apparatus membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Highly expressed in the neuronal populations such as Purkinje cells in the cerebellum, brainstem and spinal motor neurons, locus coeruleus and raphe nuclei. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
