Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects sodium-dependent serotonin transporter (gene SLC6A4) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 70.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70 kDa.
SLC6A4 encodes the serotonin transporter (SERT), which clears serotonin from the extracellular space by sodium-coupled uptake into the cell. It sets the duration of serotonergic signaling in the brain and gut, is the target of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, and is also the route by which platelets accumulate serotonin.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): U87 cells, HeLa cells, Jurkat cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human SLC6A4.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places sodium-dependent serotonin transporter in the cell membrane, endomembrane system, endosome membrane and synapse. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in platelets (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
