Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes serpin B8 (gene SERPINB8) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 42.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
Serpin B8 (SERPINB8, also called PI-8) is an intracellular clade B serpin. It supports desmosome-based adhesion between epithelial cells, and its loss causes peeling skin in humans, linking it to epidermal integrity.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SERPINB8 fragment (Glu173–Lys316), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 80.4%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places serpin B8 in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
