Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets actin-histidine N-methyltransferase (gene SETD3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 67.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
SETD3 is a SET-domain methyltransferase that adds a methyl group to histidine 73 of actin, rather than methylating histone lysines. This actin modification is needed for effective smooth muscle contraction of the uterus during labor, and SETD3 is also studied as a host factor for enterovirus replication.

Immunogen
Recombinant human SETD3 fragment (Gln173–Arg468), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places actin-histidine N-methyltransferase in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
