Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets helicase senataxin (gene SETX) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
Senataxin (SETX) is a large RNA/DNA helicase that unwinds RNA:DNA hybrids formed during transcription, known as R-loops. By resolving these structures it supports transcription termination, RNA processing and genome stability, and SETX mutations cause ataxia with oculomotor apraxia type 2 and a juvenile form of ALS (ALS4).

Recombinant human SETX fragment (Glu29–Arg2544), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 72.8%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places helicase senataxin in the nucleus, cytoplasm, chromosome and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in skeletal muscle.
