Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects helicase senataxin (gene Setx) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA.
Senataxin (SETX) is a large RNA/DNA helicase that unwinds RNA:DNA hybrids formed during transcription, known as R-loops. By resolving these structures it supports transcription termination, RNA processing and genome stability, and SETX mutations cause ataxia with oculomotor apraxia type 2 and a juvenile form of ALS (ALS4).

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places helicase senataxin in the nucleus, cytoplasm, chromosome and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Expressed in cerebellum, hippocampus, olfactory bulb, Bergmann glial fibers, stellate cells and Purkinje cells.
