Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects SH3 and multiple ankyrin repeat domains protein 1 (gene SHANK1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA.
SHANK1 is a scaffold protein of the postsynaptic density at excitatory synapses. Through GKAP/PSD-95 and Homer complexes it links NMDA-type and metabotropic glutamate receptors to the actin cytoskeleton, helping shape dendritic spines and synaptic structure.

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places SH3 and multiple ankyrin repeat domains protein 1 in the cytoplasm, postsynaptic density and synapse. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in brain particularly in the amygdala, hippocampus, substantia nigra and thalamus.
