Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects SH3 and multiple ankyrin repeat domains protein 2 (gene SHANK2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
SHANK2 is a postsynaptic density scaffold protein at excitatory synapses that connects glutamate receptor complexes with the actin cytoskeleton. It contributes to the structure and function of dendritic spines, and SHANK2 variants are associated with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places SH3 and multiple ankyrin repeat domains protein 2 in the apical cell membrane, cytoplasm, synapse and postsynaptic density. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform 3 is present in epithelial colonic cells (at protein level).
