Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes SLAIN motif-containing protein 1 (gene SLAIN1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 60.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70 kDa.
SLAIN1 is a microtubule plus-end tracking protein related to SLAIN2. SLAIN proteins link EB proteins to the microtubule polymerase ch-TOG at growing microtubule ends, promoting persistent microtubule growth, and SLAIN1 is studied for its role in organizing the cytoplasmic microtubule network.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SLAIN1 fragment (Glu200–Tyr568), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 90.1%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places SLAIN motif-containing protein 1 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in embryonic stem cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
