Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects mitochondrial adenyl nucleotide antiporter SLC25A24 in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 53.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
SLC25A24 (also called SCaMC-1) is a Ca2+-regulated mitochondrial carrier that exchanges ATP-Mg or other adenine nucleotides for phosphate across the inner membrane. It adjusts the size of the mitochondrial adenine nucleotide pool, helps protect cells from Ca2+- and oxidative stress-induced damage, and gain-of-function variants cause Fontaine progeroid syndrome.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human colon cancer tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): MCF-7 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SLC25A24 fragment (Met1–Ile293), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places mitochondrial adenyl nucleotide antiporter SLC25A24 in the mitochondrion inner membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in all tissues tested. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
