Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes neutral amino acid transporter 9 (gene SLC38A9) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 63.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 64 kDa.
SLC38A9 is a lysosomal amino acid transporter that also acts as a sensor for mTORC1 signaling. It binds the Ragulator–Rag GTPase complex, signals arginine sufficiency to mTORC1, and transports essential amino acids such as leucine out of lysosomes in an arginine-regulated manner.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Hacat cells, rat liver tissue, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SLC38A9 fragment (Asp33–Gln450), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places neutral amino acid transporter 9 in the lysosome membrane and late endosome membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
