Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets SMAD family member 1 (gene SMAD1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot.
SMAD1 is a receptor-regulated SMAD that carries bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signals. When BMP type I receptors phosphorylate it, SMAD1 binds SMAD4, enters the nucleus and regulates target genes, influencing embryonic development, cell differentiation and bone formation.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human SMAD1/SMAD5. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places SMAD family member 1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous.
