Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects stromal membrane-associated protein 1 (gene SMAP1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 50.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
SMAP1 is a GTPase-activating protein for the small GTPase ARF6. By switching ARF6 off, it supports clathrin-dependent endocytosis, and it may also play a role in red blood cell development.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A431 cells, human 293T cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SMAP1 fragment (Lys126–Gln416), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places stromal membrane-associated protein 1 in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in bone marrow, adrenal gland, trachea, lymph node, spinal cord, peripheral blood leukocytes, thyroid and stomach. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
