Product Overview
Clone 25S75 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes serine/threonine-protein kinase SMG1 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 410.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 410 kDa.
SMG1 is a PI3K-related protein kinase with two main roles. In nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) it phosphorylates UPF1 to trigger degradation of mRNAs with premature stop codons, and it also takes part in the cellular response to genotoxic stress.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): Saos2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human smg1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places serine/threonine-protein kinase SMG1 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed, with highest level in heart and skeletal muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
