Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Sm D2 (gene SNRPD2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 13.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 16 kDa.
SmD2 (SNRPD2) is one of the seven Sm proteins that form a ring on small nuclear RNAs, creating the core of the U1, U2, U4 and U5 snRNPs. It is therefore a core component of the spliceosome needed for pre-mRNA splicing.

Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human squamous carcinoma tissue, human breast cancer tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SNRPD2 fragment (Met1–Lys118), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Sm D2 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
