Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects small nuclear ribonucleoprotein-associated protein N (gene SNRPN) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 24.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 25 kDa.
SNRPN (SmN) is an Sm-like protein related to the spliceosomal protein SmB and expressed mainly in brain. It may take part in tissue-specific alternative splicing, and the gene lies in the imprinted region affected in Prader–Willi syndrome.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human U87 cells, human HeLa cells, human THP-1 cells, human RT4 cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human cervical cancer tissue, human breast cancer tissue, human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, human lymphoma tissue, human ovarian serous adenocarcinoma tissue, mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): Caco-2 cells.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human breast cnacer tissue, mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human SNRPN. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places small nuclear ribonucleoprotein-associated protein N in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in brain and lymphoblasts. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
