Product Overview

Clone 30S11 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes sorting nexin-5 (gene SNX5) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 46.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 47 kDa.

Sorting nexin-5 (SNX5) is a PX-BAR protein that binds phosphoinositide-containing endosomal membranes. As part of the SNX-BAR retromer subcomplex it bends membranes into tubular carriers that return cargo receptors from endosomes to the trans-Golgi network or to the plasma membrane, and it is widely studied in endosomal sorting, receptor recycling and pathogen trafficking.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places sorting nexin-5 in the endosome, early endosome and early endosome membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
