Product Overview
Clone 31S68 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes somatostatin (gene SST) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 12.7 kDa.
Somatostatin (SST) is a peptide hormone and neuropeptide made in the hypothalamus, pancreatic delta cells and the gut. Its main forms, somatostatin-14 and somatostatin-28, act through five SSTR receptors to suppress the release of growth hormone, TSH, insulin, glucagon and other hormones, making it a central inhibitory signal in endocrine and neuroendocrine research.

|---|
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon tissue, mouse pancreas tissue, rat pancreas tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human somatostatin 28.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes somatostatin as a secreted protein.
