Product Overview
Clone 27S86 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes somatostatin receptor type 1 (gene SSTR1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 42.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
Somatostatin receptor 1 (SSTR1) is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds somatostatin, preferring the 14-amino-acid form over somatostatin-28. Through inhibitory G proteins it lowers adenylyl cyclase activity, and it can also stimulate a phosphotyrosine phosphatase and the Na+/H+ exchanger, linking somatostatin signaling to cell growth control.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human somatostatin Receptor 1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places somatostatin receptor type 1 in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Fetal kidney, fetal liver, and adult pancreas, brain, lung, jejunum and stomach. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
