Product Overview
Clone GIB-19 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes transcription factor SOX-10 (gene SOX10) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 49.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60–65 kDa.
Transcription factor SOX-10 (SOX10) is an HMG-box transcription factor central to neural crest derivatives and glial cells. It drives the myelination program in oligodendrocytes, including induction of MYRF and myelin genes, and together with PAX3 activates MITF in melanocytes, so SOX10 is a widely used marker for oligodendrocytes, Schwann cells and melanocytic cells.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A375 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HT-29 cells, A-375 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human SOX10.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places transcription factor SOX-10 in the cytoplasm, nucleus and mitochondrion outer membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in fetal brain and in adult brain, heart, small intestine and colon. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
