Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets transcription factor SOX-5 (gene SOX5) in human, mouse, pig and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 84.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 84 kDa.
Transcription factor SOX-5 (SOX5) is a SoxD group HMG-box factor that, together with SOX6, cooperates with SOX9 at cartilage-specific enhancers. This SOX trio drives chondrocyte differentiation and expression of cartilage matrix genes such as COL2A1 and aggrecan, making SOX5 important in skeletal development research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat liver tissue, rat testis tissue, rat brain tissue, HeLa cells, A549 cells, All lanes: pig adipose cells, mouse spleen tissue, mouse thymus tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 40 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
