Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects transcription factor Sp6 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 39.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
Transcription factor Sp6 (SP6, also called epiprofin) is an Sp/KLF family zinc finger protein that promotes cell proliferation in developing tissues. It is important for tooth germ growth and enamel mineralization, in part by binding the ameloblastin promoter, so it is mainly studied in tooth development.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, human Caco-2 cells, human HeLa cells, rat brain tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse brain tissue, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): Caco-2 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Caco-2 cells.

Recombinant human SP6 fragment (Ser11–Ser218), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places transcription factor Sp6 in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
