Product Overview
Clone ACCB-19 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes sphingosine kinase 1 (gene SPHK1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 42.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 51 kDa.
Sphingosine kinase 1 (SPHK1) phosphorylates sphingosine to produce sphingosine-1-phosphate, a lipid mediator that acts both inside cells and through S1P receptors on the cell surface. By lowering ceramide and raising S1P, SPHK1 generally favors cell growth and survival, and it is studied in inflammation, vascular biology and cancer.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human SPHK1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places sphingosine kinase 1 in the cytoplasm, nucleus, cell membrane and endosome membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed with highest levels in adult liver, kidney, heart and skeletal muscle.
