Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets sorcin (gene SRI) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 21.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 22 kDa.
Sorcin (SRI) is a penta-EF-hand calcium-binding protein that is abundant in heart muscle. It modulates ryanodine receptor RYR2 channels and supports calcium handling in the sarcoplasmic reticulum, so it is studied in cardiac excitation-contraction coupling.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SiHa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): 293T cells.

Recombinant human SRI fragment (Asp121–Ala161), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places sorcin in the cytoplasm and sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in cardiac myocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
