Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects signal transducing adapter molecule 2 (gene STAM2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 58.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 65–70 kDa.
STAM2 (signal transducing adapter molecule 2) is a close relative of STAM1 that pairs with HGS in the ESCRT-0 complex. This complex binds ubiquitinated receptors on endosomes and routes them for lysosomal degradation, and STAM2 also participates in cytokine and growth factor signaling.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Human) |
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, human Jurkat cells, human HepG2 cells, rat brain tissue, rat testis tissue, mouse testis tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon cancer tissue, human liver cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human STAM2 fragment (Lys134–Leu525), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 82.7% and 79.6%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places signal transducing adapter molecule 2 in the cytoplasm and early endosome membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
