Product Overview
Clone GO-19 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (gene STAT3) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 88.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
STAT3 is a transcription factor activated mainly by IL-6-family cytokines through gp130 and JAK kinases, and also by growth factors and leptin. Phosphorylated STAT3 dimerizes, enters the nucleus and regulates genes for acute-phase responses, cell survival and proliferation. It shapes Th17 differentiation and is persistently active in many cancers, making it a major research target.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): A431 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse liver tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human STAT3.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
