Product Overview
Clone AOI-19 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes signal transducer and activator of transcription 5A (gene STAT5A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 90.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 91 kDa.
STAT5A is a transcription factor activated by prolactin, growth hormone, IL-2, KIT ligand and other cytokines and growth factors. It binds GAS elements in target genes and is essential for prolactin-driven mammary gland development and milk protein expression, and it is also studied in hematopoiesis and lymphocyte signaling.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HEL cells, rat thymus tissue, rat PC-12 cells, mouse thymus tissue, mouse RAW264.7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human breast cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with a confirmed result (IP): K562 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human STAT5a.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places signal transducer and activator of transcription 5A in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
