Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes stromal interaction molecule 2 (gene STIM2) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 84.0 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 98,100 kDa.
STIM2 (stromal interaction molecule 2) is an endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ sensor related to STIM1 but more responsive to small drops in ER calcium. By activating ORAI channels at the plasma membrane, it helps set basal cytosolic and ER Ca2+ levels and supports store-operated calcium entry, particularly in neurons and immune cells.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, human Jurkat cells, human HepG2 cells, rat PC-12 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human STIM2 fragment (Leu458–His726), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 89.2%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places stromal interaction molecule 2 in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in all tissues and tumor cell lines examined. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
