Product Overview
Clone 25S16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes STE20/SPS1-related proline-alanine-rich protein kinase (gene STK39) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 59.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 68 kDa.
SPAK (STK39) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts downstream of WNK kinases. Once activated, it phosphorylates cation-chloride cotransporters such as NKCC1, NKCC2 and NCC, controlling their activity. The WNK-SPAK/OSR1 pathway governs cell volume, renal salt handling and blood pressure, and it is studied in hypertension research.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places STE20/SPS1-related proline-alanine-rich protein kinase in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Predominantly expressed in brain and pancreas followed by heart, lung, kidney, skeletal muscle, liver, placenta and testis.
