Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase CHIP (gene STUB1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA, flow cytometry, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 34.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 35 kDa.
CHIP (STUB1) is a U-box E3 ubiquitin ligase and co-chaperone that binds HSP70 and HSP90 through its TPR domain. It tags misfolded or damaged chaperone clients for proteasomal degradation, linking protein folding with quality control, and it is studied in neurodegeneration, cardiac stress and cancer. STUB1 mutations cause a form of spinocerebellar ataxia.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human mammary cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): MCF-7 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A549 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human STUB1 fragment (Arg51–Tyr303), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase CHIP in the cytoplasm, nucleus and mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in differentiated myotubes (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
