Product Overview
Clone 26S92 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes sulfite oxidase, mitochondrial (gene SUOX) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 60.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
Sulfite oxidase (SUOX) is a molybdenum- and heme-containing enzyme of the mitochondrial intermembrane space that oxidizes sulfite to sulfate. This is the final step in the breakdown of sulfur-containing amino acids, and SUOX deficiency causes a severe inherited neurological disorder.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 1:500–1:2000 |
|---|---|
| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human 293T cells, human K562 cells, human Caco-2 cells, rat RH35 cells, mouse liver tissue, mouse HEPA1–6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human endometrial cancer tissue, human liver cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human SUOX.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places sulfite oxidase, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion intermembrane space. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
