Product Overview
Clone 17S81 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes extracellular superoxide dismutase (gene SOD3) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 25.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26 kDa.
Extracellular superoxide dismutase (SOD3, EC-SOD) is a secreted copper-zinc enzyme that removes superoxide radicals outside cells, converting them to hydrogen peroxide. By limiting the reaction of superoxide with nitric oxide, it helps preserve nitric oxide signaling in blood vessels, and it is studied in vascular biology, lung injury and inflammation.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human superoxide Dismutase 3.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes extracellular superoxide dismutase as secreted and also located in the Golgi apparatus and vesicle. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in blood vessels, heart, lung, kidney and placenta.
