Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets syncoilin in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 53.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 72 kDa.
Syncoilin (SYNC) is an atypical type III intermediate filament protein expressed mainly in skeletal and cardiac muscle. It binds alpha-dystrobrevin and desmin and is thought to help transmit mechanical force between myofibrils and the muscle fiber surface, but it does not assemble into filaments on its own.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg /1×106 cells (Mouse) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat skeletal muscle tissue, rat heart tissue, rat H9C2(2–1) cells, rat L6 cells, mouse heart tissue, mouse C2C12 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): C2C12 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse Syncoilin/Sync fragment (Asp11–Gln465), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the human ortholog: 76.6%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places syncoilin in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Detected strongly in skeletal muscle and heart and weakly in lung (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
