Product Overview
Clone AbS91 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes syndecan-1 (gene SDC1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 32.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 35 kDa.
Syndecan-1 (SDC1, CD138) is a transmembrane proteoglycan carrying heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate chains. It binds growth factors and matrix proteins, links the cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix and supports exosome formation, and CD138 is widely used as a plasma cell and epithelial marker.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): Ramos cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human syndecan 1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes syndecan-1 as secreted and also located in the membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in placenta (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
