Product Overview
Clone ACDD-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes translationally-controlled tumor protein (gene TPT1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 19.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 20 kDa.
Translationally controlled tumor protein (TCTP, TPT1) is a highly conserved, abundant protein whose production is tightly regulated at the translational level. It binds calcium, stabilizes microtubules and protects cells from apoptosis, and it is studied in cell growth, stress responses and cancer.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places translationally-controlled tumor protein in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Found in several healthy and tumoral cells including erythrocytes, hepatocytes, macrophages, platelets, keratinocytes, erythroleukemia cells, gliomas, melanomas, hepatoblastomas, and lymphomas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
