Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects G/T mismatch-specific thymine DNA glycosylase (gene TDG) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 46.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 55–60 kDa.
Thymine DNA glycosylase (TDG) is a base-excision repair enzyme that removes thymine and uracil mispaired with guanine, errors that arise from cytosine or 5-methylcytosine deamination. It also excises 5-formylcytosine and 5-carboxylcytosine produced by TET enzymes, making it a key step in active DNA demethylation.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): MCF-7 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human TDG fragment (Gln15–Arg370), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places G/T mismatch-specific thymine DNA glycosylase in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
