Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects transcriptional enhancer factor TEF-5 (gene TEAD3) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 48.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 54 kDa.
TEAD3 (also called TEF-5) is a TEA-domain transcription factor that partners with YAP and TAZ downstream of the Hippo pathway. It was first characterized through its binding to regulatory elements of placental genes such as chorionic somatomammotropin, and it is studied in placental development, muscle and cancer.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat heart tissue, mouse heart tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human TEAD3. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places transcriptional enhancer factor TEF-5 in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Preferentially expressed in the placenta. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
