Clone 23G86 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes transcription initiation factor IIB (gene GTF2B) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 34.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 31 kDa.
Transcription factor IIB (GTF2B, TFIIB) is a general transcription factor for RNA polymerase II. It binds TBP at the TATA box and bridges it to the polymerase–TFIIF complex, helping assemble the pre-initiation complex and position the start site. TFIIB is a core subject in studies of transcription initiation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human HEL cells, human THP-1 cells, human RT4 cells, rat RH35 cells, mouse RAW264.7 cells, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places transcription initiation factor IIB in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the inner cell mass forming the embryoblast.
