Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects dimethyladenosine transferase 2, mitochondrial (gene TFB2M) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 45.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 38 kDa.
TFB2M is a mitochondrial transcription factor that works with TFAM and the RNA polymerase POLRMT to start transcription of mitochondrial DNA. It helps open promoter DNA for the polymerase, and it is also related to rRNA methyltransferases, reflecting its origin from a bacterial enzyme.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human SH-SY5Y cells, human K562 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): K562 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human TFB2M fragment (Arg10–Lys386), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 53.2% and 54.8%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places dimethyladenosine transferase 2, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
