Clone AEGF-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes protransforming growth factor alpha (gene TGFA) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 17.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 17 kDa.
Transforming growth factor alpha (TGFA) is an EGF-family growth factor made as a membrane-anchored precursor and released by ADAM17 cleavage. It binds and activates the EGF receptor to stimulate epithelial cell proliferation, and it is studied in development, wound healing and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human A431 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
