Rabbit Polyclonal

Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets transforming growth factor beta-1 proprotein (gene TGFB1) in rat samples and is validated for IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 44.3 kDa.

TGF-β1 is the prototypical member of the TGF-β family of cytokines. It is secreted in a latent form held by its latency-associated peptide and, once activated, signals through TGFBR1/TGFBR2 and SMAD proteins to control cell growth, differentiation, extracellular matrix production and immune tolerance, making it central to fibrosis, immunology and cancer research.

Validated Applications

IHC (paraffin sections) 2–5 µg/mL (Rat)

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat liver tissue.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human TGF beta 1/TGFB1. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in bone.
