Product Overview
Clone 2F11 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes TGF-beta receptor type-2 (gene TGFBR2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 64.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70–85 kDa.
TGF-β receptor type 2 (TGFBR2) is a constitutively active transmembrane serine/threonine kinase that binds TGF-β1, β2 and β3 directly. Ligand binding lets it recruit and phosphorylate TGFBR1, launching SMAD signaling, and TGFBR2 mutations are linked to Loeys-Dietz syndrome and to some cancers.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Human) |
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human A549 cells, human K562 cells, human Caco-2 cells, human HeLa cells, human T-47D cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human placenta tissue, human cervical intraepithelial neoplasia tissue, human esophageal squamous carcinoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HepG2 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A549 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human TGFBR2. It differs from the mouse sequence at five residues and from the rat sequence at eight residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places TGF-beta receptor type-2 in the cell membrane, membrane raft and SUBCELLULAR LOCATION:. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
