Product Overview

Clone 30T70 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes mitochondrial import inner membrane translocase subunit TIM44 (gene TIMM44) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 51.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.

TIM44 (TIMM44) is a peripheral inner membrane protein and key part of the import motor that drives proteins into the mitochondrial matrix. It anchors mitochondrial HSP70 at the TIM23 channel so that ATP hydrolysis can pull incoming precursor proteins inward. TIM44 is studied in mitochondrial protein import and biogenesis.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places mitochondrial import inner membrane translocase subunit TIM44 in the mitochondrion inner membrane and mitochondrion matrix. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200; Flow cytometry 1:50; Immunoprecipitation 1:50. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Rat. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 51.4 kDa; observed band at about 45 kDa. A difference from the calculated size is common and can reflect post-translational modification, processing or isoform differences.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human TIM44.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
