Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets mitochondrial import inner membrane translocase subunit Tim8 A (gene TIMM8A) in human, mouse, rat and monkey samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 11.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 13–14 kDa.
TIM8A (TIMM8A, also called DDP) is a small chaperone of the mitochondrial intermembrane space that forms a complex with TIM13. It helps deliver certain hydrophobic membrane proteins to the inner-membrane TIM22 machinery. Mutations in TIMM8A cause deafness-dystonia-optic neuronopathy (Mohr–Tranebjaerg) syndrome.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human MCF-7 cells, human PC-3 cells, human K562 cells, human HepG2 cells, monkey COS-7 cells, monkey kidney tissue, rat brain tissue, rat liver tissue, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human melanoma tissue, human testicular cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human tonsil cancer tissue, human bladder cancer tissue, human gastric cancer tissue, human ovarian cancer tissue, rat brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse, rat and monkey. UniProt places mitochondrial import inner membrane translocase subunit Tim8 A in the mitochondrion inner membrane and intermembrane side. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in fetal and adult brain, followed by fetal lung, liver and kidney. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
