Product Overview
Clone AADE-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes metalloproteinase inhibitor 2 (gene TIMP2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 24.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 22 kDa.
TIMP-2 is a secreted tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases that inhibits a broad range of MMPs. It also has a special role in activating pro-MMP-2 at the cell surface together with MT1-MMP (MMP-14). TIMP-2 is studied in extracellular matrix turnover, angiogenesis, kidney injury and tumor biology.

|---|---|
| Flow cytometry | 1:20 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human TIMP2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes metalloproteinase inhibitor 2 as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
